The role
A qualified blocklayer or plasterer who takes pride in accurate workmanship and carefully finished masonry or plasterwork.
Join Black Rock on wet-trade work across new homes, extensions, renovations and smaller repairs in Guernsey. Tom is looking for a qualified tradesperson with solid practical experience in blockwork or plastering. Tell us your main trade and any additional skills in pointing, concrete, rendering or general building so we can discuss the work that best suits your experience.
Pay: Pay agreed with Tom, based on your experience, qualifications and the responsibilities of the role.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare, set out and complete work in your qualified wet trade
- Carry out accurate blockwork or plastering within the agreed scope and drawings
- Select and use suitable materials and mixes for the specified work
- Coordinate openings, levels, drying or curing needs with other stages of the build
- Maintain a tidy work area, check the finish and keep Tom informed of progress
Experience and requirements
- A recognised qualification in blocklaying, plastering or a closely related wet trade
- Practical site experience delivering work to a consistent standard
- Ability to follow drawings or specifications and check lines, levels and finishes
- A reliable, safety-conscious approach and clear communication with other trades
- Experience in additional wet trades is useful; explain which work you are confident carrying out
